why hello! it's been a while since i've used this blog, but with the adventure looming ahead, i've had a few requests to bring it back. so... it will now be used to document for all of you dear friends the coming adventures in italy! let's start with a few photos...
apparently this is a real place, and i'm told i will be living near here for the next three months. i'm also told it will be more beautiful than anything i've ever seen... and oh i sure hope it's true!
in six short days i begin my journey to study abroad in northeastern italy for three months. i'll be attending saints bible institute (sbi) with twenty four other college students from the midwest, taking Bible and theology classes.
really, though, i seriously can't wait!
i'm told this will be the view from the girls' dorm. i'm also told the girls' dorm is part of a two hundred year old renovated farm house. pretty cool, i guess:)
the idea of living with twenty four other students (all of whom are practically strangers) for three months, in a country where i am quite far from home, sounds both wildly thrilling and completely intimidating. i am honestly quite surprised by my decision to leave the familiarity of mbi and the sweet friendships i have fostered there, but my excitement is growing exponentially as february 13 draws near!
for those of you who love and serve Jesus, i am jealous for your prayers that i may be intentionally building honest relationships and fully devoted to learning what it means to follow Jesus, wherever my adventures take me.
and one more picture...
i'm told this is where i will be studying. yes. please.
don't worry, i'll be sure to post my own photos, once i discover what sbi is really like. while in italy, i'll be taking classes to complete my interdisciplinary for mbi in Bible/theology. each class is two weeks long, taught by professors hailing from both italy and the states.
so, as the countdown continues, i begin to pack, prepare, and pray that whatever happens, i can learn a little more of what it means to follow Jesus.
more pictures to come - and perhaps a few stories from my adventures as well!
man i'm craving some gelato. and i haven't even tried it yet:)
